UPI Transactions Digital transactions are on the rise, with new records being set every month. India is showing the world its strength in digital transactions, and in this regard, UPI transactions have now set a new record in October.
According to NPCI data, a record 20.7 billion (20.7 billion) UPI transactions were made in October, worth ₹27.28 lakh crore.
This figure is 5% higher in volume and 10% higher in value compared to the previous month, September. Before October, UPI transactions were 19.63 crore (19.63 billion) in September and 20.01 crore (20.01 billion) in August. According to the latest NPCI data, an average of 668 million (668 million) transactions were made daily in October, worth around ₹88,000 crore.
Volume increased by 25% and value by 16% year-on-year.
Transactions worth ₹24.90 lakh crore were made in September and ₹24.85 lakh crore in August. In October, the number of transactions increased by 25%, while the value increased by 16%. In August 2025, this volume was close to 20 billion, which has now been crossed.
October set a record for the most transactions in a single day.
The country’s leading real-time digital payment system, Unified Payments Interface (UPI), recorded 20.7 billion transactions last October. UPI payments are managed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). According to NPCI data, a record 754.3 million transactions were made through UPI on October 18, 2025.
On October 18, 2025, more than 750 million transactions were made through UPI, which is the first time UPI has crossed the 750 million transaction mark. It was the same day when Dhanteras was celebrated with great enthusiasm across the country.
